Letter to my Non FriendMy dearest non-friend,
Joy filled my heart when you claimed to begin a new friendship with me. I looked forward to filling my mind with knowledge of who you are, of how your mind processes life situations, where your interests lie and what makes you prosper.
I sent you messages every other day with questions. Curiosity arose to hear all your answers. As days past, I waited patiently. Days turned to weeks with no word from you. I began to understand your empty responses. They were enough for me to know you all too well.
You are the one who likes to tease. The one who enjoys building up the hopes of a good heart, and then shamelessly disappoints one full of color, love and passion. Maybe with intent to destroy the good in me, or simply because you can and have no remorse of a broken heart. Perhaps, it is a simple selfish act of sheer pleasure, of doing such a thing, knowing I can do absolutely nothing to alter it.
All I have to say to you now, if for whatever your reason, I am stil
In Search Of...Follow me today as I take my daily stroll,
I cannot tell you where we will end up,
But can surely show you where I go.
Understand it makes no sense now,
It is guaranteed to blow your mind,
As you realize you've been there once before.
Meet me there and you will see,
Where I end, you have already begun,
Watching what is there to be seen.
Surrounded by nature, born with it's canvas,
Sharing its' means to protect you from intense heat,
And the harshness of showers that can drown you in sorrows,
Or the natural feel underneath your feet,
Nestled by a blanket of individual comfort fallen from above.
A sweet, clean smell surrounds you like the clouds on a foggy day.
As I take in the smell of a new beginning,
And think to myself how it is everyday you are always there,
Bringing me company, support and comfort,
And no matter how the day begins,
I know you will always be there,
but maybe just a little older and a bit more worn.
How is it, you ask, that my end is where you have begun?
YOU ARE A GIFTMany moments I have spent,
Attempting to conjure the perfect gift,
But how could I possibly begin to stress,
All the splendor and beauty you possess?
A photograph to capture my hearts content,
Content from all the gifts you've sent,
Or a drawing with hues of colorful celebration,
To portray the thrill and excitement of your next deviation.
Neither medium, nor any other, could ever explain,
As you are a gift brought into this world far from plain,
Kind and generous, humble and honest,
Supportive, loving, and with talent you've been blessed.
With your birth, the world shed grateful tears,
And wish you many prosperous years,
Filled with serenity, love, laughter and blithe,
And to slumber every night, under the stars without strife.
